Hello my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, it sure goes by fast doesn’t it?
Recently I was able to try a new form of moisturizer that is made with steam…yes, steam!
Let’s jump in!
SteamCream* comes in an adorable tin jar with many different designs, which you can find here.
From the company: “It’s STEAMCREAM’s unique STEAM process that makes our cream much more effective on the skin. The force of the STEAM fuses the ingredients instantly – holding them together in a very gentle and loose emulsion. When it touches your skin, the naturally moisturising ingredients and pure, calming essential oils are released from the light emulsion so they can sink past the surface reaching the areas they are needed fast. Your skin will feel intensively moisturised and softer for longer.”
As you can see, they use the steam to “fuse the ingredients” together, making the moisturizer sink in to your skin…leaving it feeling softer for longer periods of time.
I love that SteamCream is handmade in the UK, but can be purchased online, and they don’t test on animals. You all know how much I love fur babies!
My tin is a cute floral tree branch with an adorable bird on it, it’s 75 ml and a little bit of cream goes a long way, it cost $20. My tin is in Ume Ni Uguisu, which means ‘great match’ in Japanese, the smell is a bit menthol-y, kind of like a medicated cream, it is a bit strong. But, once it’s applied, the scent does not linger, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. I actually don’t mind the scent, and I’m a bit picky with scents, and my mom didn’t seem to mind it either.
I leave my tin besides my kitchen sink and apply it after I’ve washed dishes. I hate the feeling of dry, cracked hands after washing some dishes, so this moisturizer is perfect. I’ve even found since I started using this cream over a week ago, that my cuticles aren’t as bad. This moisturizer is very versatile, it can be used on your face, hands and body. I prefer to use it on my body and hands, especially my elbows. They tend to get super dry during the winter.
Pros: -Travel friendly
-Non-greasy
-Re-useable tin
-Very moisturizing
-Versatile
-Lightweight
Cons: -Smell (for some)
-Price
Overall, I am really enjoying my SteamCream, I even find my husband using it every now and then. It is a bit pricey, but like I mentioned, a little bit of cream goes a long way, so this tin should last me awhile–that’s if my husband doesn’t hog it up!

Fun fact: Tati from GlamLifeGuru on YouTube mentioned SteamCream in her December 2013 Favorites video as one of her favorite moisturizers!
Until next time beauties!
