Productivity Tips For Girl Bosses
Optimize Your Work Space
Personally, I think one of the most important productivity tips is to have a tidy and organized desk. You don’t have to have a ton of decor or knick-knacks — optimizing your work space means having things that help you work better and eliminating things that don’t help. But we’ll get to that point later. If you are someone that needs some background noise, try working with a fan on, or even some light music. Another thing to keep in mind, is having a comfy chair — that’s a MUST!
Prioritize Your To-Do List
Start by making a general to-do list, then pick the TOP 3 things that need to get done ASAP. Prioritize those 3 things, once you’ve finished with your top 3 priorities of the day, move on to the rest of your to-do list. This keeps your list a bit more simple and easier to get done, which in turn motivates you more.
At the end of the day, plan for the next day — it doesn’t have to be anything perfect, just jot down what you have to get done the following day. This makes it easier to begin your day.
Time blocking has become a big thing in my life lately. I usually work in hour increments — once an hour has passed, I stop what I’m doing and move on to my next task. This keeps the flow going and also keeps me focused. I’ve also noticed that I get more done this way.
Learn To Delegate
We can’t do it all — so learn to pass on a few things to others. Use this time to work on other important things that do need your attention.
The last thing you want is to get burned out, so take breaks. Personally, I prefer a lot of small breaks, instead of one long break. But do what works for you and your work flow.
